INTRODUCTION

Datadog

is an American company that provides full-stack Observability services for cloud scale applications, is a leading SaaS-based cloud monitoring platform used by various companies worldwide to monitor servers, applications, databases, containers, tools, cloud services and security services in real time. The platform helps tech teams see what's happening in their complex cloud environments in real-time through dashboard metrics, logs, traces, and alerts all within a single cloud hosted solution.
About
Datadog was founded in New York City in 2010 by Oliver Pomel and Alexis Le-Quoc, both were engineers who met while undergraduates at Ecole Centrale Paris, and later worked together for 9 years at Wireless Generation. After Wireless Generation was acquired by NewsCorp, the two set out to create a product that would reduce the friction they experienced between developer and system administration teams, who were often working at cross-purposes.
Datadog launched its initial infrastructure monitoring product in 2012, quickly gaining traction and grew rapidly and expanded its product offerings to cover service providers including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Red Hat OpenShift, VMare and OpenStack. Over the years, the company expanded into: APM (Application Performance Monitoring) – 2017 Log Management – 2018 Security Monitoring – 2020 Cloud SIEM – 2021 Synthetic Monitoring – 2022 CI Visibility – 2022 Universal Service Monitoring – 2023 Today, Datadog is a publicly traded company (NASDAQ: DDOG) and a major leader in cloud observability, serving over 26,000 customers globally.
